Objectives

(1) To advance heritage through preserving for public benefit the historical, architectural and constructional heritage that may exist in and around Moffat in buildings (including any part of a building, and any other structure or erection) of particular beauty or of historical, architectural or constructional interest. and including Moffat Town Hall. (2) To provide recreational facilities within Moffat, and organise recreational activities, where such facilities/activities are available to members of the public at large with the object of improving their conditions of life. (3) To advance education, and in particular (but without limitation) through provision, or support for the provision, of library and public-access internet services, tourist information, information on local heritage and wildlife, and training in IT skills. (4) To advance citizenship and community development within Moffat by: (A) enabling young people within Moffat to find new interests and to form effective relationships with other people through leisure time and educational activities. (B) promoting volunteering and the voluntary sector. (C) helping to develop links among those resident in Moffat through the organisation of community-based events. (D) providing a variety of opportunities, including the provision of recreational activities, to assist in the integration of young and older people resident in Moffat. (5) To advance the arts, through organising and/or supporting music and other arts events of all kinds. and (6) To promote and/or support other similar projects and programmes which further charitable purposes within the Operating Area.
