Objectives

The company has been formed to benefit the Colonsay Community council area (“the Community”) with the following objects: (1) The advancement of community development (including the advancement of rural regeneration) within the Community. (2) To advance education amongst the community, particularly among young people and the unemployed. (3) To relieve unemployment within the defined area for the public benefit in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance to find employment. (4) To provide or assist in the provision of housing for people in necessitous circumstances within the defined area. (5) To promote and/or provide training in skills of all kinds, particularly such skills as will assist residents of the defined area in obtaining paid employment. (6) To protect and/or preserve the natural environment of Colonsay and Oransay, for the benefit of the general public. But only to the extent that the above purposes are consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development.
