    THE WIDER WORLD PROJECT 

    The Wider World Project (WWP) is a project for young people and young adults with additional support needs, aged 16 plus years, living in County Durham. Participants plan, develop and engage in a range of activities and opportunities which develop skills, independence, self-esteem, confidence and promote inclusion and positive disability awareness.

    THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PREVENTING YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 16 AND OVER WITH A DISABILITY AND/OR ADDITIONAL SUPPORT NEEDS LIVING IN COUNTY DURHAM FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY.TO ADVANCE IN LIFE AND HELP YOUNG ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES AND ADDITIONAL NEEDS THROUGH PROVIDING SUPPORT, ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMMES WHICH DEVELOP THEIR CONFIDENCE, OPPORTUNITIES, SKILLS, INDEPENDENCE, CAPACITIES, AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS INDIVIDUALS.
