THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:TO RELIEVE SICKNESS AND DISTRESS AMONGST THOSE AFFECTED BY ANY FORM OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND ABUSE, PARTICULARLY, BUT NOT LIMITED, TO WOMEN AND GIRLS AND THE COMMUNITY IN ESSEX AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS WITHIN EAST ANGLIA, AND INCLUDING THE FAMILIES AND FRIENDS OF THOSE AFFECTED AND OTHERS AFFECTED WHO ARE IN NEED, IN PARTICULAR BY THE PROVISION OF COUNSELLING AND SUPPORT FOR SUCH PERSONS; ANDTO ADVANCE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE SUBJECT OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND ABUSE, INCLUDING BY BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE PROVISION OF TRAINING AND PUBLICATION OF INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE.
