MOVE THE MASSES

We run projects, activities and campaigns to create healthy communities by enabling people to improve their wellbeing through movement. We promote free-to-access outdoor gym facilities and educate the public on how to use this equipment safely and effectively. We run a walking buddy service called Move Mates where volunteers walk with people who would otherwise struggle to leave their homes.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • This charity has been very successful in attracting volunteers relative to its size
  • There has been strong growth in spending since inception
  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government
  • The Board appears to be well diversified in terms of gender and dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Over half the Board have joined recently

Financial issues to consider:

  • Income was significantly lower than spending in the latest year
  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
