THINKING AUTISM CIO

Raising awareness amongst parents, carers, professionals and adults with autism of the medical issues commonly associated with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. We believe many children and adults with autism are medically ill and when these needs are properly assessed and appropriately treated these individuals can and do improve in health, behaviour and quality of life.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • The charity has received backing from a grant maker
  • There has been reasonable growth in spending over the last 3 years relative to the previous period, despite a decline more recently

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • This charity does not have a Conflict of Interests policy
  • The Board is completely female
  • The Board has little diversity in terms of age

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • Income has been volatile and on several occasions in recent years less than spending
