They meet up to talk about things like feeling lonely or sad, relationship breakups, family stress, grief when a loved one has died or when their child has been taken into care.They also celebrate and explore the things that make them happy and contribute to their good mental health, like having a night out together, going for a pamper session, a chat over a cuppa.The peer support groups are as varied as the women taking part - they cross boundaries of age and race, but also give the chance to build relationships with each other based on those things they have in common, which begins to give them a sustainable social resource to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

Local people with learning disabilities were employed as Project Workers in three locations. They supported other local residents with learning disabilities to attend local community based activities and make friends and connections in their neighbourhoods.

THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF PROFESSIONALS, CARERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT THE NEEDS AND INTERESTS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE LABELLED AS HAVING LEARNING DIFFICULTIES/DISABILITIES SO THAT PEOPLE WHO ARE LABELLED AS HAVING LEARNING DIFFICULTIES/DISABILITIES MAY ACHIEVE FULL PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMUNITY.
