BARRIER BREAKERS FOUNDATION

We provide soft skills training & development to improve wellbeing, build employability, reduce offending or re-offending, and improve the life chances of disadvantaged individuals, especially of young people. We do this using Barrier Breakers Methodology for Soft Skills Development & Evaluation (BBM), which builds soft skills capacity & produces data to evidence progress.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • There has been strong growth in spending over the last 5 years
  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • There are only 3 trustees
  • The Board has little diversity in terms of age

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • Latest accounts are overdue for filing
  • On several occasions in recent years income has been less than spending
