ASCAPE 

ASCape is the only charity of its kind dedicated to improving the lives of autistic children and young adults (4-25) in West Dorset. We support children and their families through a range of family-based activities, offering a successful program of social groups and family activities free or at low-cost for all age ranges, from the very youngest children through to young people over the age of 18.

THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:‘PROMOTING SOCIAL INCLUSION AMONG CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS BETWEEN THE AGE OF 0-19 YEARS WITH AUTISTIC SPECTRUM CONDITION (ASC) AND/OR SOCIAL ANXIETY, ESPECIALLY LIVING IN THE COUNTY OF DORSET INCLUDING IN THE BOURNEMOUTH, CHRISTCHURCH AND POOLE COUNCIL AREAS WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY OR PARTS OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF THEIR CONDITION BY:1. HELPING SUCH CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS BECOME BETTER SOCIALISED AND LESS ISOLATED THROUGH THE FACILITATION OF PEER SUPPORT AND SUPPORTED SOCIALISATION.2. SUPPORTING CARERS AND FAMILIES, INCLUDING SIBLINGS, OF SUCH YOUNG PEOPLE BY PROVIDING PEER SUPPORT VIA GROUPS AND FAMILY ACTIVITIES, ENCOURAGING SHARING OF IDEAS, RESOURCES AND SUPPORT WITHIN AND BETWEEN THESE GROUPS.3.
