KWIZERA

Kwizera works with orphans and other vulnerable children in the Kisoro area of south west Uganda. Sponsors are recruited in the UK to pay for the children's school/college fees and other school necessities, and to support the children's carers if they are very poor. Money is also raised to pay for repairs to (and occasionally a complete rebuild of) the family homes of the sponsored children.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • There have been no material income shortfalls in recent years

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • This charity does not have a Conflict of Interests policy
  • The Board composition appears to be very static

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • Income was significantly lower than spending in the latest year
