THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, (A) TO RELIEVE PEOPLE WHO ARE SUFFERING FROM BLINDNESS OR RESTRICTED VISION, AND TO PREVENT THE ONSET OF MEDICAL CONDITIONS WHICH CAUSE BLINDNESS OR RESTRICTED VISION, BY PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE EYE CARE SERVICES AND PROMOTING ACCESSIBLE HEALTH CARE; (B) TO RELIEVE THOSE WHO ARE IN NEED BY REASON OF THESE, AND OTHER FORMS OF DISABILITY BY PROMOTING THE ACCESSIBILITY OF EDUCATIONAL AND WELFARE SERVICES TO THOSE AFFECTED, WHERE POSSIBLE TOGETHER WITH OTHER MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY IN WHICH THEY LIVE.
