Objectives

TO UNDERTAKE ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSE BY LAW FROM TIME TO TIME AND WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE SCHOOL AND ITS PUPILS AND PAST OR PRESENT STAFF.WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING BUT ALWAYS PROVIDED THAT THE SAME ARE AT THE PERTINENT TIME CHARITABLE WITHIN THE MEANING OF ENGLISH LAW:(A) TO ADVANCE THE SCHOLASTIC, ARTISTIC, INTELLECTUAL, SPORTING, PHYSICAL, SOCIAL AND LEISURE EDUCATION OF PUPILS BY PROVIDING AND ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR ALL THE SAID FORMS OF EDUCATION AT THE SCHOOL. IN SO DOING:(I) TO AWARD TO PUPILS SCHOLARSHIPS, BURSARIES, MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES OR GRANTS TENABLE TO THE SCHOOL INCLUDING THE UNDERTAKING OF TRAVEL, WHETHER IN THE UNITED KINGDOM OR IN OR TO ANY OTHER PART OF THE WORLD, IN FURTHERANCE OF THAT EDUCATION; (II) TO MAKE INTEREST-FREE OR LOW INTEREST LOANS TO FORMER PUPILS OF THE SCHOOL TO ENABLE SUCH PERSONS TO PURSUER HIGHER OR FURTHER EDUCATION OR TO PREPARE FOR ENTRY TO ANY OCCUPATION, TRADE OR PROFESSION AND WHO WOULD NOT THEMSELVES IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES BE ABLE TO MEET THE COSTS THEREOF.(B) TO ALLEVIATE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR POVERTY AMONGST THE PUPILS AND THEIR FAMILIES OR PRESENT OR FORMER STAFF OF THE SCHOOL AND THEIR FAMILIES INCLUDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO ENABLE ANY CHILDREN OF SUCH PERSONS TO RECEIVE EDUCATION AT THE SCHOOL BY MAKING GRANTS OF MONEY OR PROVIDING OR PAYING FOR ITEMS, SERVICES OR FACILITIES.(C) TO ACT AS A RESOURCE FOR FORMER PUPILS OF THE SCHOOL BY PROVIDING ADVICE AND ASSISTANCE AND ORGANISING PROGRAMMES OF PHYSICAL, EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER ACTIVITIES AS A MEANS OF: (I) ADVANCING IN LIFE AND HELPING SUCH PERSONS BY DEVELOPING THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS INDEPENDENT, MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS;(II) ADVANCING EDUCATION;(III) RELIEVING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP ARISING FROM UNEMPLOYMENT.
