Our Milan Girls project will provide a groundswell of opportunities for young Muslim Girls to grow and develop. The over arching outcome of this project will be confident girls with strong leadership skills with the potential for becoming a force for good, in their own communities. 1: Building social networks for women and girls. The sessions will enable the group to interact and learn from each other. Regular contact will make for stronger bonds and connections with their locality and neighbourhoods. Reducing the isolation that they live in and giving them the tools to find solutions to the common challenges that they face growing up in Surrey. The outcome of this project will be a well connected community of young girls with strong bonds of friendship able to shape their futures. 2:Improve health and well-being The weekly sessions will have an exercise slot and a range of topics that will cover health and well being. The outcome of these activities will be a well informed group of young women with a positive attitude to keeping fit and healthy. 3.Build Skills and confidence The sessions will provide opportunities for the girls to articulate their views and communicate with each other. The opportunity to discuss and disagree in a friendly space with their peer group will boost their skills and confidence. The sessions will give every participant the chance to facilitate the group the outcome of which will be a confident group of young women with social skills to engage with their peers and the ability to influence the decisions that affect their lives.
