This measure covers grants for Co-operation under Countryside Productivity, Countryside Stewardship and ESIF Growth Programme to micro and small enterprises, farmers and foresters engaged in cooperative activities. This measure encourages and promotes a range of cooperative activity which encourages farmers, forest holders, private businesses and public bodies, or participants in supply chains to work together to take forward priorities for investment and overcome disadvantages of fragmentation. The measure develops priorities in environment, climate change and biodiversity; supporting farmers and foresters to improve supply chains or develop short supply chains; develop initiatives to tackle animal health and welfare issues; as well as cooperation between public bodies and private businesses to develop the rural economy. Local co-operation in tourism activities are supported that improve the attractiveness of the overall destination, help develop the supply chain in the visitor economy and encourage collaborative activity or pilot projects developing agri-food hubs or clusters in particular geographic areas. This measure will be used to implement the European Innovation Partnership for agricultural productivity and sustainability. RPA administers for measures in England

This Whitehaven charity and company limited by guarantee, which operates across west Cumbria, will use the funding to establish a central office base accessible to the public from which it can coordinate its projects and activities, and act as a focal point for meetings, recruitment and training of volunteers. This will enhance participation in environmental improvement projects, improve marketing and promotion of the work, and increase the efficiency of the organisation.
