At Space4 Autism we provide a wide range of clubs, services and activities for children, young people and adults with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), in addition we run initiatives to support their parents, carers and wider families. We are applying for funding to deliver a range of interim outreach services to support people with ASC and their families during the Coronavirus pandemic. Your grant would pay for the staffing costs of those that will deliver the service for 3 months (support staff, Senior Nurse and an ADHD Nurse). The project will play a vital role in the lives of our member families, ensuring that they do not feel alone during the crisis, that they have someone to turn to for advice, guidance and support to help them through this difficult time - reducing anxiety and isolation.

This two-year project ran a community cafe with a training kitchen in Macclesfield. Staffed by people with autism, a training chef and a ‘front of house trainer’ provided vocational catering training and work experience for young people and adults as well as basic cookery and food preparation sessions for people of all ages. Participants were involved in all aspects of running the café, and the project provided an autism friendly environment for people with autism, their families and the wider public to meet and socialise.
