WESLEY METHODIST CHURCH READING

We are an active congregation of 140 members from a wide range of backgrounds. On Sunday mornings and evenings we meet for worship. We have a thriving Junior Church, with ages from 0 to 18, and share with other East Reading churches in joint youth activities. Small groups for fellowship, Bible study, prayer and church life development meet regularly, and social action projects.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • There have been no material income shortfalls in recent years
  • The Board appears to be well diversified in terms of gender

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy
  • This charity does not have a Conflict of Interests policy
  • There are 18 trustees whereas the Charities Commission recommends a maximum of 12

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
