This project will deliver a specialised disability support service to families in their homes, with a particular focus on children and parents who are experiencing a physical or learning disability. A Home-Start family support coordinator will provide a support plan involving the whole family, with a focus on daily routines, housing needs, mental health and wellbeing. This will then be handed over to a trained volunteer who can continue supporting the family emotionally and practically.

They provide one to one support for parents and children alongside supportive group activities and access to grants and assistance to help support families through difficult times. With the support of many local volunteers they provide a lifeline and safe and happy space for families. This funding is to support their core costs including staff salaries and overheads to allow them to continue this important work with some of the most vulnerable families in Dover and Kent.
