Many of the women who are met on the outreach have complex lives often with traumatic pasts. Many of the women lack confirdence and are isolated. They are often in poor health due to substance misuse and pay little or no attention to sexual health matters. By having a closed drop in session it gives women the opportunity to discuss what matters to them, to build relationships and help share information that might be useful in helping to protect others. Providing a meal means that they will have some nutritional food and by being willing to support where the need is and not the perceived need we can have a better impact. If a woman is known to be enganging with support the police are more likely to take a sympathetic approach.
