    5 The SCIO will promote, advance and further charitable purposes by operating as a grant giving charity which will support financially and otherwise charities, community groups, individuals and others which further the purposes detailed at clause 5.1. 5.1 For the purposes of the 2005 Act the following charitable purposes are the charitable purposes identified as applicable from section 7 of the 2005 Act are:- 5.1.1 the advancement of education. 5.1.2 the advancement of health. 5.1.3 the saving of lives. 5.1.4 the advancement of arts, heritage, culture or science. 5.1.5 the advancement of public participation in sport. 5.1.6 the advancement of environmental protection or improvement. and 5.1.7 to provide relief to those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.
