The Charity seeks to support, represent and develop the work of YMCA in Scotland, and represent Scottish YMCA work internationally through the following purposes: 5.1 The advancement of Christian religion by: 5.1.1 Promoting a Christian environment inspired and motivated by the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, where people of all faiths or no faith at all can work together for the transformation of communities. and 5.1.2 Enabling people of all ages, and in particular young people, to grow and flourish in their spiritual development through experiencing and responding to the love of God. 5.2The advancement of education, citizenship and community development by: 5.2.1 Providing and promoting education for all people, and particularly young people that enables them to grow, flourish and thrive, making a positive contribution to their local communities. and 5.2.2 Providing and delivering training and educational programmes for local YMCAs dealing with all areas of YMCA operation and in particular youth work and community development and which also promote the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of all people, especially young people.
