    Objectives

    The SCIO's two purposes are: 10.1 The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended 10.1.1 To advance this purpose 10.1, the SCIO will apply for and secure the capital funding required for the establishment of a Strathaven community 3G sports pitch 10.2 The advancement of public participation in sport 10.2.1 To advance this purpose 10.2, the SCIO will seek to manage, maintain, improve and develop the facility to advance community participation in sport while recognising and managing the agreed access and development requirements of Community Clubs in line with funding criteria. 10.2.2 Also, to support wider community access to the public regardless of levels of ability and encouraging disadvantaged groups to improve their future opportunities through local sports participation and use of the facility. 10.2.3. Also, to support all Members and public who are committed to using sport to improve and increase healthy lifestyles, social interaction, citizenship, and reducing the incidence of anti-social behaviour thereby enhancing skills, community spirit and ultimately job prospects.
