    The organisation is established for charitable purposes only, and in particular, the objects are: 4.1 ‘to advance the environmentally sustainable development of culture (including the arts, culture, heritage and science). and 4.2 To advance the roles of cultural organisations and practitioners in promoting environmentally sustainable development, independently or in collaboration with others. 4.3 In this constitution, ‘sustainable development’ is defined as ‘development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs’. 5A The area within which the organisation shall operate (in this constitution referred to as the ‘Area of Benefit’) shall be predominantly within Scotland, with activity taking place in other countries where there are activities and/or networks that will benefit Scotland through research, knowledge exchange and best practice. 5B The organisation shall promote (but not promote exclusively) its activities and delivery operations to people within the ‘Area of Benefit’ who are concerned about environmentally sustainable development. These people will be the organisation’s beneficiaries
