    The promotion of horticulture in all of its branches: By running a spring and summer horticultural exhibition and competition By forming and supporting The Garden Club, a sub committee of the Horticultural Society which holds educational and social events on a monthly basis, where members of the society can learn skills from other members of the society and from invited speakers By encouraging school children to take part in the society's shows by providing instruction and equipment By running bus trips to mainland horticultural shows
