    Objectives

    CELCAS purpose is: a) To promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Cranshaws, Ellemford and Longformacus area (the area being defined by the boundary of the local Community Council and hereinafter referred to as 'the Area') the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interest of social welfare with the object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants including mitigation of financial hardship due to distance from hospital services, doctor and schooling, and increased costs of fuel and food. b) To provide funds for the relief of poverty the promotion of education in the Area and for any other purpose which shall be regarded as charitable in law. Declaring however that it is not intended that funds will be used for purposes which are the statutory responsibility of the local authority. c) The advancement of community development, the arts, heritage, culture, science and public participation in sport. d) As all monies raised by or on behalf of the Association shall be applied to further the objects of the Association and for no other purpose provided that nothing herein contained shall prevent the payment in good faith of reasonable and proper remuneration to any employee of the Association and fees to professional and technical advisers.
