    (1) To conserve and restore the natural environment (including native woodland, wildlife habitats, plant life and eco-systems) on the Island of Arran ('the Operating Area') for the benefit of the general public. (2) To provide, maintain and/or improve, or assist in the provision, maintenance and/or improvement of, public footpaths, public parks and/or other public amenities within the Operating Area for the benefit of the general public. (3) To advance education particularly in relation to the wildlife and natural environment of the Operating Area, and land and countryside management (including the preservation of traditional woodland skills) within the Operating Area. (4) To provide, or assist in the provision of, facilities available to the general public for recreation or other leisure time occupation within the Operating Area, in the interests of social welfare. (5) To relieve the needs of people with disabilities in particular by facilitating access to the native woodlands and wildlife habitats and to facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation within the Operating Area.
