Objectives

(1) to relieve the poverty and advance the education and training of persons who are or have been very long term prisoners at HM Prison Edinburgh and other prisons as may occur in furtherance thereof (2) the provision of craft materials for Very Long Term Prisoners within Scotland to promote the development of new and existing skills and to enhance time spent in cell (3) the structured provision of appropriate training and work experience for eligible Very Long Term Prisoners in preparation for release, thereby increasing the likelihood of successful reintegration with society and reducing the risk of re-offending (4) the provision of appropriately supervised supportive short-term accommodation including short pre-release horne leaves for eligible Very Long Term Prisoners on temporary leave from penal institutions in preparation for release.
