    promoting and encouraging improvements in agriculture and horticulture in northern Britain, and in furtherance thereof, inter alia: (1) to organise periodic conferences to discuss matters relating to crop protection in northern Britain. (2) to publish and make available to all interested parties details of the proceedings of such conferences. and (3) between conferences, so to manage any surplus funds from one conference as to keep registration fees for the next conference to a minimum.
