    The objects of the Society shall be to advance the education of the public concerning bibliographical studies by: (a) the discussion and elucidation of questions connected with books of any date, printed or manuscript, especially Scottish. (b) the promotion and encouragement of bibliographical studies. and (c) the printing of bibliographical works, in particular of a series of Transactions.
