    Objectives

    The objects of the Organisation shall be: (a) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of St. Andrews and as much of the surrounding area as possible (hereinafter called 'the neighbourhood') by:- (i) giving guidance to organisation, local authorities and the community groups. (ii) associating the voluntary organisations, local authorities and the community in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation of the community and to act as an advisory body in the provision of such activities. (iii) making and encouraging provision to help and educate young people through their leisure time activities to develop their spiritual, mental and physical capacities to enable them to grow to full maturity as responsible individuals and members of society and that their conditions of life may be improved. (iv) fostering a community spirit for the achievement of these and such other purposes as may be law be deemed to be charitable. (b) To establish or to secure the establishment of a Community Centre (hereinafter referred to as 'the Centre') and to maintain and manage, or to co-operate with any local statutory authority or authorities in the maintenance and management of such a Centre for activities promoted by the Organisation and its constituent bodies in the furtherance of the above objects or any of them. (d) The Organisation and its constituent bodies shall have power to affiliate to National Associations and other organisations whose objects shall not be inconsistent with those set out above.
