    Objectives

    The Society shall be called 'THE WEAVERS' SOCIETY OF ANDERSTON,' and its objects are declared to be the benevolent assistance of such of its Members, their Widows, and others hereinafter mentioned as may be in reduced circumstances...Pensions shall be granted only to Members and their widows who are in necessitous circumstances. It shall not be competent to award relief, either temporary or permanent, to a Member of his widow until at least five years after the Member’s entry, and in no event shall more than one pension or precept be awarded in respect of the entry through which such pension or precept is made...No Member of the Society, his widow or other dependant, shall be entitled to demand relief, such relief being entirely voluntary on the part of the Directors, and to be given or withheld at pleasure.
