To provide the means of education and to afford pecuniary relief to (i) members of The Glasgow Renfrewshire Society who are not for the time being members of the Society, (ii) persons who are qualified to become members of the Society and to have their names entered upon the Register of Members notwithstanding that they have not authorised their names to be so entered and so long as not so entered, (iii) any of the families of the aforesaid members or persons, and (iv) any other persons connected with the County of Renfrew by birth, marriage or otherwise, provided such members or persons aforesaid are in the opinion of the Directors in such necessitous or indigenr circumstances as to merit such assistance.
