    the relief of poverty, youth and the aged and the promotion of the benefit of the inhabitants of the New Lodge and wider North Belfast (hereinafter called the "area of benefit") without distinction of age, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, promote health and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupations with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants, and in particular: (a) to provide childcare, recreational facilities, and services for young people and older people within the area of benefit; (b) to promote community capacity building within communities which are socially and economically disadvantaged; (c) to maintain and manage, for the public benefit, a Centre or Centres within the area of benefit for activities promoted by the Company.
