    BEXHILL OLD TOWN PRESERVATION SOCIETY 

    The Society is established as an independent, non-party, non-sectarian body for the public benefit in the area comprising Bexhill-on-Sea, especially the Old Town. It aims to preserve the antiquity and character of the area as a thriving community; to secure the protection of features of historic or public interest; to foster community spirit; and to maintain the Jubilee Clock and its belfry.

    Objectives

    (I) TO PRESERVE THE ANTIQUITY AND CHARACTER OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT AS A THRIVING COMMUNITY. (II) TO EDUCATE THE CITIZENS AND FRIENDS OF BEXHILL IN AN APPRECIATION OF THE HISTORY, GEOGRAPHY, NATURAL HISTORY AND ARCHITECTURE OF THE AREA. (III) TO SECURE THE PRESERVATION, PROTECTION, DEVELOPMENT AD IMPROVEMENT OF FEATURES OF HISTORIC OR PUBLIC INTEREST IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT. (IV) TO PROMOTE A HIGH STANDARD OF PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE IN OR AFFECTING THE AREA OF BENEFIT AND TO OPPOSE ANY INAPPROPRIATE DEVELOPMENTS. (V)TO REPRESENT THE VIEWS OF THE SOCIETY TO LOCAL, COUNTY AND OTHER AUTHORITIES. (VI) TO INSURE, MAINTAIN, REPAIR AND KEEP IN WORKING ORDER, THE JUBILEE CLOCK AND ITS BELFRY.
