(1) TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT OF YOUNG LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER PEOPLE WITHIN SOMERSET ('THE AREA OF BENEFIT') BY PREVENTING SUCH PEOPLE FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF THOSE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, AS A RESULT OF THEIR SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER-REASSIGNMENT BY PROVIDING FACILITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR RECREATION AND EDUCATION OF SUCH PEOPLE.(2) TO PROMOTE AND PRESERVE THE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH OF YOUNG LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER PEOPLE WITHIN THE AREA OF BENEFIT BY THE PROVISION OF INFORMATION, ADVOCACY, ADVICE, COUNSELLING AND PEER SUPPORT.(3) TO PROMOTE EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PROMOTING THE ELIMINATION OF DISCRIMINATION ON THE GROUNDS OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND GENDER IDENTITY BY RAISING AWARENESS, WITHIN THE AREA OF BENEFIT OF ALL ASPECTS OF DISCRIMINATION THROUGH TRAINING, EVENTS AND OTHER MEANS OF COMMUNICATION.
