THE OBJECTIVES OF THE CIO ARE TO PROMOTE THE CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE IN SIERRRA LEONE BY:-- SUPPORTING RESEARCH ON THREATENED HABITATS AND WILDLIFE IN SIERRA LEONE AND COMMUNITY BASED CONSERVATION INITIATIVES; AND- SUPPORTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AGRICULTURAL, EDUCATION, AND EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVES IN SIERRA LEONE TO SPUR SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, REDUCE FOOD INSECURITY, REDUCE THE RISK OF ZOONOTIC DISEASE TRANSFER, REDUCE TO DEMAND FOR ILLEGAL AND THREATENED WILDLIFE, AND INCREASE COMMUNITY-BASED CONSERVATION INVOLVEMENT IN AND AROUND THREATENED ENVIRONMENTAL AREAS.NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
