Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy
  • Why are there only 3 trustees?
  • The Board has little diversity in terms of age
  • Returns have been filed late on 4 occasions over the last 5 years and the current period appears to have been extended

Financial issues to consider:

  • This charity has an endowment fund which generates much of its income. Its latest spending amounts to only -466.3% of total funds
  • There was a deficit on unrestricted reserves of £530,905 at the last year end after deducting the value of own use assets
  • Income was lower than spending in the latest year
