Objectives

The objects of the CIO are to promote particularly but not exclusively for the inhabitants of the counties of Berkshire, Gloucestershire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire: • the advancement of amateur sport and physical education, including through: o providing or assisting in the provision of facilities, courses, training programmes and resources to enable, assist and encourage the education of persons in leadership, coaching and organisation of sport and physical recreation; o developing skills in physical activity, developing physical and mental capacity, evaluating and improving performance in physical education and making informed choices about healthy, active lifestyles; o providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for the playing of sports,• the advancement, promotion and preservation of good health in such ways as the trustees think fit, including but not exclusively by: o encouraging community participation in healthy recreation; o funding training on and awareness of healthy living; and o funding medical research into and understanding around better health; and• such other charitable purposes beneficial to the community consistent with the objects above as the trustees shall in their absolute discretion determine.
