THE 1701 SOCIETY

The 1701 Society provides support for the educational activities of children at Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School in Rochester. Largely supported by former pupils, as well as current and former parents, it allows those who have an affinity to the school and hold it in high regard to make a regular donation which supports the current pupils at the school.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • This charity does not have a Conflict of Interests policy
  • The Board is completely male
  • The Board composition appears to be very static

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • On several occasions in recent years income has been less than spending
