"The fund aims to:1) To reduce closures of essential charities that provide essential services to vulnerable groups during the COVID-19 crisis by ensuring they have the financial resources to operate, thereby reducing the burden on public services.2) To ensure essential services are provided to vulnerable people, both in the short and long term through increased community support through the work of charitable organisations."

Improve health and wellbeing: The women who attend our pop-up wellbeing centre leave feeling encouraged and reminded of their worth. Many of them have never received any physical contact or the contact they do receive has been unkind or violent. They feel valued as the recipients of treatments that they would otherwise be unable to afford or couldnt access due to childcare responsibilities. They leave feeling refreshed and equipped with quality products then can enjoy using at home. They are also more aware of the other kinds of support available that could help them overcome their problems or help them to address their needs and will know how to access those additional support services. Build social networks for women and girls: The women realise that they are amongst friends and peers, feel less stressed, more relaxed and are therefore more willing to chat. They will be encouraged to exchange contact details with any women they have bonded with in the sessions so that they can meet up at other times and will therefore build up friendships and an informal peer support group that will improve their social network. Harbour Coffee House, our cafe on Commercial Road, will be recommended as a suitable meeting place so that members of our church are on hand to provide additional support, as and when required. All women who attend sessions at the pop-up centre will be asked to recommend City Women to any existing female friends and to female family members who they believe would also benefit from engaging with our service. This will help extend the reach of our project and, in turn, more vulnerable women will receive early intervention support, achieve a greater sense of wellbeing, enjoy a wider social network and will engage with other support services in the local area.
