BETHLEHEM CARE AND HOSPICE TRUST

We are a Care and Hospice Trust that provides basic hospice care facilities for men and women who are dying in Bethlehem. This care is provided in their own homes which enables hospital beds to be freed up for those who need hospital care.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • There has been strong growth in spending over the last 5 years
  • There have been no material income shortfalls in recent years
  • The Board appears to be well diversified in terms of gender and dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy
  • There are 13 trustees whereas the Charities Commission recommends a maximum of 12

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • Income was significantly lower than spending in the latest year
