THE CALDER AND COLNE RIVERS TRUST

We aim to conserve and protect the waterways throughout the Calder river catchment. We aim to educate the public, particularly children, in: (1) The understanding of rivers, including their fauna, flora and economic or social activity, and river catchment management.(2) The need for, and benefits of, conservation, protection, rehabilitation and improvement of aquatic environments.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • There has been strong growth in spending over the last 5 years
  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government
  • The Board appears to be well diversified in terms of age and gender and dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy
  • This charity does not have a Conflict of Interests policy
  • One or more trustees receive payments or benefits from the charity for providing services to the charity

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • On several occasions in recent years income has been less than spending
