Activities focus on migration such as talks, film nights, football, youth activities and the annual festival. The group promotes an inclusive society and challenges attitudes towards migration which can be polarised in Dover. The steering group is comprised of local residents and includes local young people.

This project aims to ease the consequences of indefinite immigration detention through a volunteer visitor scheme. On release detainees are generally affected by the stigma of having been in a detention centre, being separated from their families, and faceing a culture of mistrust and rejection. Where possible the detainee and volunteer would be matched according to need, such as language and age. DDGV will raise awareness of prominent issues and promote integration, such as through talks and social media.
