This SCIO will promote, advance and further charitable purposes primarily through the focal point of the organisation of a community focussed balloon festival to encourage the commnuity (as well as others from further afield) to come together in Strathaven to celebrate and enjoy its history, culture and community spirit. The festival will aim to encourage a wide and diverse range of participants in the community event and will also seek to work in collaboration with schools, charities and others in building the success of the festival and other events and projects connected with it. The projects and events connected with the festival will ordinarily be aimed at advancing education through schools projects, promoting Strathaven's heritage and culture (including through arts and culture aspects of activities at the festival) and furthering education and science through the techniques and procedures associated with balloon flight.
