THE WIRRAL SCHOOLS' CONCERT BAND PARENTS ASSOCIATION

The Band consists of over 50 young people aged 14 - 18 from Wirral secondary schools, who play to a high standard and preferably will have achieved grade 5 or above in the ABRSM exams (or equivalent). They rehearse weekly during term time and perform formally and informally across Wirral and beyond. They have been invited to perform in the national Music for Youth festival.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • The Board appears to be dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • This charity does not have a Conflict of Interests policy
  • The Board is predominantly male
  • Over half the Board have joined recently

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • Spending has fallen significantly over the last 5 years relative to the previous period
  • Income has been volatile and on several occasions in recent years less than spending
