THE CAREERS RESEARCH AND ADVISORY CENTRE (C R A C ) LIMITED

CRACs aim is to encourage and support career learning and active career development at all ages. We provide inspiration, intelligence and innovation to all those who support career development. CRAC works in partnership with educators, employers and others, sharing knowledge and developing programmes and activities to help people make informed career decisions and manage their careers positively.

Practically the project will review currently available careers information and identify gaps and needs. We will then develop new information that will outline occupational roles, provide key labour market intelligence and identify the potential education and progression pathways to these roles, including skills and qualifications. New material will be a combination of written, graphical and video content, to be hosted on the Historic England website. Development of the content will be underpinned by interviews with staff and experts at Historic England and key external stakeholders. The project will commence in April and be completed by 30 September 2018. The careers information will be presented in an appealing and lively style, to engage and interest a range of young people, many of whom will never have considered a career in heritage. The project will thereby contribute to efforts to widen participation in terms of engagement and volunteering as well as the diversity of those who work in the sector. The new webpages will be linked to existing careers information and support resources, and be set in the context of current Statutory Guidance for careers provision for young people.
