GREATER LONDON SOUTH COUNTY SCOUT COUNCIL

Greater London South Scout Council exists to give practical support to the Scout Districts and their Groups that fall within its catchment area such as a H.Q. Camp Site where leader training is undertaken and international exchange visits made. Appropriate funding for such events is also given within the guidelines laid out in the Scout Association's document, Policy, Organisation & Rules.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • The charity has received Government grants
  • Spending has increased over the last 3 years relative to the previous period, despite a decline more recently
  • The Board appears to be well diversified in terms of gender and dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • There are 13 trustees whereas the Charities Commission recommends a maximum of 12

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • On several occasions in recent years income has been less than spending
