Objectives

For the purposes of these Objects ‘the Wey & Arun Canal’ means a waterway from the Wey Navigation in the vicinity of Gun’s Mouth, Shalford, Surrey to the River Arun in the vicinity of Pallingham, West Sussex, including, but not limited to, the abandoned but partially restored Wey & Arun Junction Canal and Arun Navigation,The Objects are, for the public benefit:4.1 to promote and facilitate the restoration, preservation, conservation, protection, improvement, construction, use, and maintenance in good order, of the Wey & Arun Canal and its associated watercourses, towpaths, structures, buildings, other works and adjacent land;4.2 to promote, facilitate and provide facilities for the use of the Wey & Arun Canal including the use of the Wey & Arun Canal for navigation and recreation;4.3 to preserve, conserve and improve the natural environment of the Wey & Arun Canal and adjacent land and provide education and share information about it; and4.4 to protect, conserve, research, and provide education and share information about:(a) the heritage associated with, and(b) structures, objects and sites of archaeological, architectural, engineering or historical interest of, or associated with,the Wey & Arun Canal.
