Objectives

1. PROVISION OF ALMSHOUSES FOR PERSONS OVER THE AGE OF 18 WHO ARE IN NEED AND WHO (EXCEPT IN SPECIAL CASES TO BE APPROVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS) ARE RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF THE ANCIENT PARISH OF CHIGWELL AT THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT. 2. THE TRUSTEES SHALL APPLY THE INCOME OF THE ALMSHOUSES CHARITIES IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER OF PREFERENCE: (1) FIRSTLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE ALMSPEOPLE OF THE CHARITY KNOWN AS THE ALMSHOUSES (INCLUDING SUBSIDIARY ENDOWMENTS OF KING AND CROWFOOT) OR ANY OF THEM IN SUCH MANNER AS THE TRUSTEES THINK FIT FROM TIME TO TIME; AND (2) SECONDLY FOR THE RELIEF OF PERSONS IN NEED RESIDING WITHIN THE ANCIENT PARISH OF CHIGWELL.
