BSL CELEBRATION

Objectives

THE OBJECT OF BSL CELEBRATION IS THE PROMOTION OF SOCIAL INCLUSION AMONG DEAF PEOPLE AND BSL SIGNERS WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PARTS OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF BEING DEAF OR A BSL SIGNER BY:1. PROVIDING RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR DEAF PEOPLE, BSL SIGNERS AND HEARING NON-SIGNERS; AND2. RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE ISSUES AFFECTING DEAF PEOPLE AND BSL SIGNERS, BOTH GENERALLY AND IN RELATION TO THEIR SOCIAL EXCLUSION.
