    THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS:THE PROMOTION OF THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR IN NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE AND THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE (HEREINAFTER CALLED 'THE AREA OF BENEFIT') IN PARTICULAR BY:(I) BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF CHARITABLE AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS OPERATING WITHIN THE AREA OF BENEFIT AND PROVIDING THEM WITH THE NECESSARY SUPPORT, INFORMATION AND SERVICES TO ENABLE THEM TO PURSUE OR CONTRIBUTE TO THE FURTHERANCE OF ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSE WITHIN THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES AND STRENGTHEN THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH THEY OPERATE; AND(II) PROMOTING, ORGANISING AND FACILITATING CO-OPERATION AND PARTNERSHIP WORKING BETWEEN CHARITABLE AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS AND STATUTORY AND OTHER RELEVANT BODIES WITHIN THE AREA OF BENEFIT.FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS CLAUSE, 'THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR' MEANS CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:• CHARITIES ARE ORGANISATIONS, WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES.• VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS ARE INDEPENDENT ORGANISATIONS, WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR PURPOSES THAT ADD VALUE TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE, OR A SIGNIFICANT SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY, AND WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED BY THEIR CONSTITUTION TO MAKE A PROFIT FOR PRIVATE DISTRIBUTION.
